Visual profile and branding for Carnis

Carnis
Nina Reynisdottir, the founder of the nutrient-dense animal brand Carnis, came to us with a request to develop a full visual identity for her new venture. The idea behind Carnis grew out of a desire to consume deeply strengthening, locally sourced supplements and to offer products that make full use of the entire animal.
Being approached with such a bold and original concept gave us instant inspiration. We set out to design a visual profile that reflects the authenticity and raw honesty of Carnis: produced in Gjøvik, crafted in a small factory, and powered entirely by this one-woman operation. Carnis creates nutrient-dense supplements and whole-animal products derived from responsibly raised livestock. By using every part of the animal — including meat, fat, organs, and collagen-rich cuts — Carnis provides naturally bioavailable nourishment in its purest form. All ingredients are sourced from farmers who allow their animals to graze freely on open pastures, ensuring a commitment to quality, sustainability, and ancestral nutrition.

These products are designed to support strength, clarity, and long-term health, helping people reconnect with real, whole-body nourishment.
In developing the visual identity, we drew inspiration from the atmosphere of the old-fashioned butcher shop. Bold, vintage-inspired typography is paired with a brand pattern that echoes the traditional wrapping paper once used for fresh cuts of meat. To add personality, we collaborated with illustrator Sandra Navarra to create a character named Carl the Butcher, who serves as the warm and friendly face of Carnis.

Locally made, responsibly sourced, unmistakably authentic
